Andre-Pierre Gignac has not been included in Didier Deschamps France squad to play Paraguay, Sweden, and England in early-June (ESPN).
The Frenchman’s impressive form, which has seen him score ten goals in the last month, was not enough to earn him a recall.
He’s not featured for the national side since October 2016, when he played a part in France’s World Cup Qualifiers against Bulgaria and the Netherlands.
The 31-year-old has represented his country 31 times, but it looks like he might have played his last game for Les Bleus.
While the player will presumably be upset at missing out, it’s great news for us. He only had two weeks of rest between the Euro 2016 final and his first game of the Apertura last summer. Hopefully, a full off-season will help his body recover fully ready for the rigors of next season.
