After a goal drought of more than two months that went all the way back to his penalty against Puebla in Jornada 9, Gignac broke free of his shackles in spectacular fashion on Saturday night.
He set us on our way with a clever finish in the four minute and was already unlucky not to have scored a couple more by the time he added his second and third of the night in the 75th and 79th minutes respectively.
His breakthrough could apparently be put down to one man — famous hypnotist and Monterrey resident, John Milton.
Gignac and fellow countryman Andy Delort both went to see him on the advent of the game on Saturday, and both scored goals less than 24 hours later.
Some might dismiss Milton as just an act, but it seems our forward is a believer. According to reports, Gignac went back to Milton after the 5-0 win to offer his thanks and to give him a special present — his matchday shirt.
We wonder, can we give Milton a full-time job in our dugout?!
