Andre-Pierre Gignac is set to reject a big money offer from China, citing his love for Tigres and the city of Monterrey as his reason.
According to reports, the unnamed Chinese side has offered Gignac a “huge” sum of money that would see him pick up a considerably larger salary than the one he is currently receiving – but the Frenchman is not interested.
“It’s a very good deal, but he doesn’t want to go. He is very happy here and his family are settled. We will be watching what happens today and tomorrow,” a source told Mediotiempo.
Gignac’s agent, Jean Christopher Cano, is currently negotiating a contract extension with the Tigres board.
The 31-year-old has been a sensation since arriving in Mexico in the summer of 2015. He’s scored 45 goals in 75 games and has helped the side win two league titles and the Campeon de Campeones.
