Lucas Zelarayan outlines his ambitions for the rest of the season

Lucas Zelarayan has been speaking about his hopes for the rest of the campaign.

The Argentine has come out of his shell this term and has been a vital part of our attacking unit in recent weeks. The departure of Rafael Sobis has given him more time on the pitch, and he’s grasped the opportunity with both hands.

We Want to Win the League

Talking to the press ahead of this evening’s clash with Cruz Azul at El Volcan, he said he’s not concerned about remaining unbeaten, but he’s eager to make sure we finish top of the table at the end of the regular season.

“I’m not worried about going unbeaten,” he stated. “The challenge is to finish as the leader with the most points possible.”

“Staying unbeaten is good, but not what we have in mind. You have to finish with as many points as possible for a favourable seeding in the Liguilla.”

Zelarayan was a $5.5 million signing from Belgrano last winter. He’s featured in all ten league games so far this season.
