Lucas Zelarayan says he hopes to be considered for selection by Argentina in the future – but he admits he still has a lot to learn.
The 24-year-old has finally started making a name for himself in Mexico this season. After being signed from Belgrano last January, he struggled for regular minutes in the Clausura, but he’s firmly established himself in the first eleven in this campaign.
Making a Breakthrough
He’s now started 11 of our 12 games in the Apertura, and came on as a sub in the other one against Atlas. He finally got his first goal of the campaign when he scored the opener in our 3-2 loss against Leon last weekend.
“It’s nice that the fans ask me about Argentina,” he said.
“I’m obviously working towards being selected, but I still have a lot of things to learn.
“Tigres is doing something right because our players are getting called up. I hope they’ll select me one day – it is the fondest dream that any player can have.”
