Our Argentine keeper Nahuel Guzman is closing in on an impressive record.
Assuming he is handed the number one shirt against Leon this weekend, he will have played in 50 consecutive league matches for the club. It’s a run that stretches all the way back to the fifth week of the 2015 Apertura when we lost 2-1 to Leon.
He missed the game after being sent off in the 90th minute of a 2-2 draw with Chivas the week before. Enrique Palos took his place.
Ironically, Palos actually holds the club record for the most consecutive league starts. He played 86 consecutive games before losing his place to Sergio Garcia during the largely disappointing 2014 Clausura.
Palos is almost certain to start in Panama tonight when we face Plaza Amador in the CONCACAF Champions League.
The game kicks off at 7pm.
