Tigres could play the Liguilla final on Christmas Day, and Tuca is furious

If we beat Leon on Saturday night, Tigres could play the second leg of the Liguilla final on Christmas Day.

If America overcomes Necaxa in the other semi-final, the final would be postponed due to Las Aguillas participation in the Club World Cup in Japan.

La Volpe’s men will play Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in Osaka on 11 December. The winners will face Real Madrid on 15 December in Yokohama. The final is scheduled for 18 December.

The FMF has reportedly penciled in 22 December and 25 December for the Liguilla final in the event that America qualifies. The 25 December game would be played at El Volcan; Tigres is the highest seed remaining in the competition.

Tuca is not happy about a possible lengthy wait without a high-level game. It could be two and a half weeks between the semi-final second leg and the start of the final. In an interview yesterday, he questioned why the problem had not been addressed sooner.
