Played 10. Won 6. Drawn 4. Lost 0.
It’s been a hugely impressive (and enjoyable) season for us so far. After a slow start, which saw us draw 0-0 against Santos and Atlas, we’ve now won four of the last five and sit top of the form guide.
But it’s not as good as the Clausura 2013 – yet.
Back then we didn’t lose until the 14th game of the season when we went down 2-1 at the Estadio Olímpico. We eventually ended the campaign with two losses thanks to a 1-0 home defeat to Rayados in Jornada 16.
After ten games we’d won seven and drawn three.
Can We Keep it Up?
Let’s just hope we haven’t peaked too early.
Back in 2013 we ended up playing Monterrey in the Liguilla quarter-final. They finished in a lowly ninth place in the regular season and were only granted a place in the post-season after eighth-place Queretaro got relegated.
Ironically, if we’d beaten them at El Volcan, Tijuana would have got the place instead.
We all know what happened next – we lost 1-0 at El Tec, Danilinho leveled it up after 13 minutes of the home leg, then Jimenez scored that own goal.
