Jorge Torres Nilo has warned that the form guide will go out the window when Monterrey visit El Volcan on Saturday evening.
All the form guides point to a Tigres win. We go into the game eight places and eight points ahead of Rayados, and they’ve only won one of their last three (a 4-1 victory over lowly Chiapas).
But Torres Nilo insists it’s not as simple as that.
“There are no favorites,” said the 28-year-old.
“We know your form before the Clasico is not important. It doesn’t matter what place you’re in or how you’re playing.”
Liguilla on the Line
On paper, it looks like Monterrey are more desperate for the win; they badly need the three points to keep their Liguilla hopes alive. But Pizarro insisted that the motivation of a good seeding in the post-season was enough for our players.
“I know they need points in order to qualify,” he added.
“For us, the most important thing for our squad is to win the game. We want these three points so we can stay at home [in the Liguilla second legs].”
