Tuca is still unsure whether defensive midfielder Guido Pizarro will be fit to face Pachuca in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The Argentine international broke his nose in the first leg after a gruesome clash of heads with Los Tuzos’ Óscar Murillo.
He resumed training with the first team squad last Friday, raising hopes he might be able to play some part in El Clasico against Rayados, but ultimately the 27-year-old wasn’t even deemed fit enough for a place on the bench.
“He’s trained a little more physically and been kicking a ball,” said Tuca.
“We are taking things slowly. Guido has a great physical ability but it’s very hard to say today whether or not he will be able to play on Wednesday.”
Kick off at the Estadio Hidalgo is at 9 pm local time on Wednesday. The score is tied at 1-1 after the first leg.
