Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing one of our strikers – but it’s not Frenchman Andre-Pierre Gignac.
The former Marseilles frontman was linked with the Catalan club back in the summer, with Ferretti even suggesting he wouldn’t stand in the 30-year-old’s way if they made a move. Thankfully, the bid never materialized and he remains a Tigres player.
However, the Spanish giants are keen on another one of our players – Carlos Ibarguen. Barcelona-based newspaper Sport broke the story earlier this week.
Ibarguen is currently on loan with Colombian outfit, Independiente Medellin.
A Star in the Making?
At just 21-years-old he has forged a reputation for being one of the hottest young prospects in South American football – and it’s a market that Barca are keen to continue exploiting.
He’s become a star in Medellin in recent weeks, scoring a 77th-minute goal against Santa Cruz that put his side into the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana.
Medellin are currently top of the Colombia Primera Division after 14 games.
