Tigres is keen to sign Chilean international Gary Medel this summer.
Multimedios report the 29-year-old is one our top priorities as we look to secure a back-up for Duenas and Pizarro. Tuca seemed reluctant to use Gringo Torres or Manuel Viniegra last season, and with Viniegra joining the Quinones brothers, Luis Advincula, and Jose Rivas in departing the club in last week’s draft, more depth is clearly needed.
The defensive midfielder is currently playing in Serie A with Inter Milan, and has also represented Sevilla, Cardiff City, and Boca Juniors in his career. He has 95 caps for Chile.
The deal is far from being complete; Boca Juniors are also keen and Tigres reportedly continue to monitor other targets including Éver Banega, Carlos Vela, Cristian Tello, Paolo Guerrero, and Ramón ‘Wanchope’ Abila.
Regardless of who we sign, let’s just hope Tigres can complete the transfers well in advance of the first game of the Apertura on 22nd July against Puebla.
