Duenas: “We’re playing four cup finals for a place in the Liguilla”

Jesus Duenas, who scored the vital second goal in last night’s 3-0 win against Chivas, has said Tigres need to treat the four remaining league games like cup finals if they want to book a place in this season’s Liguilla.

The win moved us onto 16 points, just two behind Atlas, America, and Pachuca who occupy sixth, seventh, and eighth place respectively. However, all three sides could increase the gap back up to five points with wins tonight.

“We have four finals remaining,” said the midfielder. “We want to get 12 points so we have a possibility of making playoffs. We have to keep doing the same or better than we did against Chivas.”

Our four remaining league games are against Pumas (H), Rayados (A), Xolos (H), and Queretaro (A).

Tonight’s action sees America host Necaxa, Atlas host Pumas, and Pachuca host Morelia.
