Javier Aquino back in training – ready to play against Necaxa

Javier Aquino has been passed fit for our game against Necaxa on Saturday evening. It’s a welcome boost after the earlier news about Israel Jimenez’s injury.

The 26-year-old missed the defeats against Plaza Amador and Leon with a sprained ankle sustained during our 0-0 draw with Cruz Azul in Jornada 11 at the end of September.

The injury kept him out of Mexico’s two recent friendly games against New Zealand and Panama.

Return to Training

Earlier in the week it had been reported that he hadn’t trained with the first team squad since the injury and he was unlikely to be fit in time.

However, he completed a full training session with the rest of the senior players earlier on Wednesday. He will now be considered for selection.

Kick-off at El Volcan is at 7pm local time.

Would you throw him straight back into the first eleven? Let us know in the comments.
