Pictures have emerged of adoring Tigres fans mobbing Joffre Guerron outside Cruz Azul’s team hotel in Monterrey at the weekend.

Fans stopped him as his team left the hotel to travel to the stadium. Our former striker even took the time to sign one fan’s Tigres shirt.
Guerron spent 18 months at the club before being sold to Los Cementeros last winter. He was a fan favorite during his time at the club and received a hero’s welcome in El Volcan, both before kick-off and when being subbed off.
He was a regular starter in the 2014/15 season and was arguably our best player in the remarkable run to last year’s Copa Libertadores final.
Sadly, the arrival of Andre-Pierre Gignac and Jurgen Damm restricted his first-team opportunities and he was forced to be an onlooker for much of the 2015 Apertura.
