Brazilian Série A side Santos reportedly wants to sign Lucas Zelarayan in the summer.
The Argentinian star has endured a difficult season in Monterrey, starting just eight games since the summer and only three in the Clausura. His last start came almost a month ago against Veracruz. He’s been an unused sub on 13 occasions.
At the time of writing, he’s seen just 870 minutes of first-team action. In the 2016/17 season, enjoyed more than 2400 minutes of action.
Despite his lack of playing time, he’s still managed to hit the net three times.
Santos wanted to take the player immediately so he could play in the club’s ongoing Copa Libertadores and Paulista state championship campaigns. Club president José Carlos Peres even traveled to Monterrey to discuss terms, but Tigres was not willing to sanction a move before the summer.
The Brazilian transfer window closed on Monday, meaning both the player and his suitors will have to wait until June.
