Tigres arrive in Houston ahead of Chivas friendly

The Tigres squad has arrived in Houston ahead of this weekend’s friendly against Chivas.

The two clubs have taken the opportunity to play a non-competitive game while the world’s eyes are on the international football calendar.

The game comes just seven days after the two sides faced each other in the Liga MX. On that occasion, the teams walked away with a share of the spoils following a dour 0-0 draw in Guadalajara.

Chivas and Tigres will both be without an array of starters due to the FIFA date, but the likes of Ismael Sosa, Enner Valencia, and Lucas Zelarayan have all traveled for the Monterrey club.

Tigres have already played one match during the international break. On Wednesday, the team lost against Pumas on penalties after a 3-3 draw in 90 minutes. Sosa was the star of the show, scoring twice and providing the assist for Valencia’s goal.

Kickoff at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston is at 5pm Central Time on Saturday 24th March. You can watch live via Chivas’ Facebook page.
