Tigres are reportedly close to signing Luis Caicedo from Brazilian side, Cruzeiro.
The 25-year-old helped the Belo Horizonte-based club win the Brazilian Cup last season, but is currently on loan at Barcelona SC back in his home country.
The center-back had arguably his best season in 2016 when he helped Independiente del Valle to the runners-up spot in the Copa Libertadores.
According to the reports, the move will be formally announced after Barcelona’s Clásico del Astillero against Emelec this weekend. The transfer would not go through until the summer window.
Some have expressed concern about Caicedo’s disciplinary record. The player has seen two red cards in just six starts for his country.
Could he be the long-term replacement for club captain Juninho? Let us know in the comments.
