Tigres linked with Colombia star by ESPN journalist

We are interested in a January move for Colombian star Jackson Martinez, according to ESPN journalist Diego Cora.

Martinez, who played for Chiapas for three years before moving to Europe, is currently playing for Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

He represented Porto between 2012 and 2015, then spent last season at Atletico Madrid.

Cora tweeted the rumor last night, but we cannot confirm the veracity of his claims.

Martinez is a proven goalscorer, having bagged 28 goals in 58 games for Chiapas, then a further 69 goals in 105 games while in Europe. He’s also scored 10 in 40 for the Colombian national side.

Despite having a star-studded attack, we have struggled for goals in the Clausura. In the 16 games so far, we have only scored 21 times. It’s only the 11th best in the division.

Do you think it would be a good signing? Let us know in the comments.
