Tigres U19s blow two-goal lead to draw with Manchester United [Video]

Tigres U19s drew 2-2 with Manchester United in the Dallas Cup on Sunday night, despite throwing away a 2-0 lead.

The game took place in front of a record Dallas Cup crowd of 20,644.

After a cagey opening, Aldo Mota put the Mexicans ahead on the 30-minute mark with a well-taken finish from a corner.

The second goal didn’t arrive until the 70th minute when a calamitous bit of defending saw a United center-back slide the ball into his own net.

The two-goal advantage didn’t last long. Mason Greenwood pulled one back for the English side with 13 minutes to go before James Garner fired home the equalizer with just seconds remaining on the clock.

Next up for Tigres in Group A is Japanese side Higashi Fukuoka later on Monday. United will face Toronto. Other participants in the U19 category include Arsenal, Monterrey, FC Dallas, and Real Oviedo.

The senior side was also in the U.S. this weekend as they beat Chivas 2-0 in a friendly in Houston.
