Tigres wants to sign Iván Rivas from Colombian Primera A side, Patriotas Boyacá.
Rivas is the second-highest scorer in the league, with nine goals so far this campaign.
His club is currently involved in the post-season playoffs. On Saturday, they drew 1-1 Atlético Huila in the first leg of the quarter-finals. Rivas scored his side’s goal.
According to Multimedios, Tigres and Patriotas Boyacá have an agreement in place which allows the two clubs to exchange players. As such, if the rumors are true, getting the deal over the line should be a formality.
The 30-year-old, who is nicknamed “Bebe”, has never been capped for his country. He’s also lacking in continental football experience. His only noteworthy contribution came in the Copa Sudamericana with La Equidad in 2013.
It’s widely assumed that the transfer window will see several comings and goings at El Volcan. As many as seven players could leave the club, including Enner Valencia, Jurgen Damm, and Israel Jimenez.
